Agilis Search is delighted to be partnering with a highly successful and fast-paced accounting practice based on the outskirts of Colchester to recruit a talented finance professional for their Corporate Client Accounting Team.
This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious and detail-oriented individual who enjoys working with complex financial data, thrives on meeting deadlines, and takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work. The role would suit someone who loves spreadsheets, enjoys analysing data, and has strong experience in reconciliations and management accounting.
Working with a diverse portfolio of corporate clients, you will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining robust controls, and supporting month-end processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Bank reconciliations.
- Preparation of prepayments and accruals.
- Manual journal preparation and posting.
- Payroll reconciliations.
- Intercompany account reconciliations.
- Maintenance of fixed asset registers.
- Review of nominal ledger activity and departmental cost tracking.
- Balance sheet reconciliations with supporting audit evidence.
- Preparation of management accounts and financial commentary.
- Group reporting using client-specific consolidation software.
- Production of reports to support compliance requirements.
- Assisting with internal and external audit queries.
- Ensuring month-end deadlines are achieved accurately and on time.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience within a finance, accounting, or practice environment.
- AAT Level 4 qualified, ACCA part-qualified, or studying towards ACCA/CIMA.
- Excellent working knowledge of Xero.
- Strong Excel skills, including advanced formulas and data analysis.
- An understanding of currency transactions and international accounting.
- Experience of intercompany accounting and group structures.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and challenge financial data.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
- The confidence to work independently and manage your own workload.
- Strong communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude.
Desirable:
- Microsoft Dynamics or Xero experience.
- Previous experience within an accounting practice or outsourced finance environment.
